1990 -  Mayab was founded as a family business by Maria Magdalena Yacaman de Barletta whom the company was named after. It began with the distribution of five products: latex gloves, bulk popcorn, laundry detergent, foam trays, and packaging film. The most successful product of these five was the latex glove.

1992 - Mayab introduces disposables and becomes the pioneer in Honduras for disposable products. 

1993 – Mayab became an association.  As years passed, disposables kept increasing which led Mayab to other  products such as paper products.

1995 -  Mayab becomes a Kimberly Clark Distributor for the institutional market.  The paper industry led Mayab to cleaning products and later to the food service industry.  Presently, Mayab is the exclusive distributor for many international brands such as American Roland Food Corp., Solo Cup Company, Pactiv Corporation, Heinz, Badia and Anchor Packaging Corporation among others.

2007 - We have over 1,500 different products and serve over 2,500 clients nationwide.  We currently belong to a group holding which consist of two drugstores, Barletta Beauty Supply and Distribuidora Mayab.
